Ekiti House of Assembly readmits suspended pro-Aribisogan lawmaker

The ranks of the lawmakers supporting the former Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Gboyega Aribisogan, was depleted yesterday, as the House readmitted one of the suspended legislators, Kemi Balogun.

The ranks of the lawmakers supporting the former Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Gboyega Aribisogan, was depleted yesterday, as the House readmitted one of the suspended legislators, Kemi Balogun.

Following the removal of Aribisogan and the installation of Bunmi Adelugba as a replacement, a fierce battle started between the two dramatis personae, who were poised to undo each other.

But the Assembly, at its plenary yesterday, lifted the suspension of the lawmaker.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman of, the House Committee on Media and Publicity, Adeoye Aribasoye.

The statement read: “This action is consequent to the consideration of her letter of apology and the fulfilment of other conditions attached to her reinstatement.

“Adekemi Balogun has therefore been readmitted to the House with all her rights and privileges restored.”
