The General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, has said that the only way out of the challenges confronting the country today is to come closer to God through understanding of His Word.
Kumuyi gave the charge, yesterday, at the event titled, “Media Unveiling of Daily Manna (A Daily Devotional Guide), which took place at the Multipurpose Hall of the Deeper Life Headquarters in Gbagada, Lagos.
The General Superintendent, who was represented by the Church Secretary, Pastor Samuel Afowape, said full understanding of the Word of God through books such as Daily Manna, which simplifies the contents of the Bible and makes it applicable to various problems in the nation as well as in various families would go a long way to bringing solutions to many problems that people are passing through.
He said: “The Bible is the best selling book in the world that proffers solutions to man’s problems and reveals the mind of God to man. Unfortunately, many people do not have the full understanding of this compass that is capable of guiding every man aright.
“It is in this light that Daily Manna is put together in a comprehensive manner as a daily guide to help people not only in Nigeria, but also in every country in the world, to understand the Bible and know the mind of God with a view to giving them direction.”
In his keynote address, the Vice Chancellor, Maranatha University, Prof. Rufus Akinyele, said the Daily Manna with two editions of the paper back (standard) and the deluxe version produced in leather cover had been strengthened and rebranded with the promise of a more universal usage by individuals and families.
“As individuals and a nation, we are channelling enormous investments and resources into various projects and programmes, aimed at making life and living better. However, despite the best of efforts, social malaise, discontentment, depression, protests and agitations as well as general frustration are all on the increase.
“The Daily Manna is a spiritual compass that beautifully collates, presents and articulates God’s infallible solutions on various human worries and contentions.
“It helps individuals and nations to see the one thing missing in the quest for fulfillment and social advancement, namely: “The Mind of God in His Words” which is the secret of a purpose-driven, happy and fulfilled life.
The Chairman of the occasion, Taiwo Kupolati, SAN lauded the efforts of Kumuyi, the Editor of Daily Manna who also made provision for the youth with Higher Everyday as well as the children version.
