Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmad Adamu Muazu, has said the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, should be elected in 2023 because he is the most detribalised of all the candidates.

At the inauguration of North Central executives and state coordinators, as well as the commissioning of the North Central secretariat of Project 60:23 for Atiku-Okowa in Jos, Plateau State, yesterday, he also said Atiku is one of the most tolerant Muslims known to him.

“Atiku is my friend, brother and colleague. He stands as the best among all candidates. He is physically and mentally capable, has the experience to be president and has served for eight years as the Vice President of Nigeria. I assure you, if you want Nigeria to stand as strong and united, then you must vote for Atiku Abubakar,” he said.

Muazu, who served as governor of Bauchi State from 1999 to 2007, said the 2023 election would reflect the true aspiration of Nigerians.

His words: “I want to beg all Nigerians, especially the youths, to deliver Atiku in your wards, local councils, states and the country overwhelmingly. This is a decisive moment. You must all stand to vote for Atiku because it is a matter of the future of Nigerians yet unborn and we must vote for Atiku for a secure country.”

According to him, the PDP presidential candidate is a man of great destiny, patience and courage.

He, however, commended the National Coordinator Project 60:23 for Atiku-Okowa, Kefas Ropshik, for his spirit of sportsmanship in politics, noting that even when he lost at the PDP governorship primary in Plateau, he kept working hard for the party to succeed.

The National Patron, Project 60:23 for Atiku-Okowa, Amb. Yahaya Kwande, in his goodwill message, tasked all members of the group to work and deliver their polling units for the party. “If Atiku gets 60 votes from each polling unit in the North Central, then he is already the winner,” he added.

Ropshik, while inaugurating the North Central executive committee from Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa, Kogi, Niger, Kwara and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Jos, promised that the group would campaign for Atiku based on issues and not confrontation.

“Atiku has never lost an election in Plateau, and we will get more votes for him to come 2023. North Central is for PDP and Atiku. Victory is sure,” he said.
