Mario Balotelli is set to make a stunning return to international football for Italy for the first time in three years after the Italian coach, Roberto Mancini, called him up on Saturday, January 21, 2022 to the Italian National Team.
The news was confirmed by Fabrizio Romano in a tweet that stated that Roberto Mancini is focused on giving Mario Balotelli a new chance to play for the national team.
The 31-year-old last played for the national team in September 2018. He has had a rough patch in his football career, but he seems to have found his footing at a Turkish club, Adana Demirspor, in Turkey. Mario Balotelli has recorded seven goals and provided two assists in 18 Super Lig appearances in the 2021–2022 season.
This is not the first time Mancini and Balotelli have worked together. Mancini coached him at Manchester City and Inter Milan.
