Kate Henshaw is the latest member of the unofficial club of the 50’s and 50 plus of Nollywood. The Efik Princess clocked 50 this July, precisely on July 19.
Born to Etubong Etim and Theresa Henshaw of the Henshaw Royal family of Cross Rivers State, Kate has continued to put her talent at the disposal of directors of the first rank. The later day fitness buff had her break in the groundbreaking urban telling When the Sun Set. It was from that point that the stage and screen actress developed an unquenchable passion for acting. And as her passion grew, the Microbiology graduate, sought more movie outings and as she did, producers found the star of movies like ‘Girls in the Hood’, ‘A Million Tears’, ‘To love and to Hold’, ‘Dangerous Silence’, ‘Blood and Ice’ and ‘Emotional Hazards’ a ready hand for their offerings. Today, Kate has through dint of hard work; dedication, and discipline earned a top place in moviedom.

Kanayo Kanayo
Anayo Modestus Onyekwere who is popular as Kanayo O. Kanayo or KOK for short is a prominent member of the 50’s club. Born on March 1, 1962, the Mbaise, Imo State-born actor and lawyer is one of Nigeria’s long-standing and leading actors.
A recipient of the national honours of Member of The Federal Republic (MFR), KOK who won the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA) for Best Actor in 2006 for his effort in the movie ‘Across The Niger’ made his debut in the 1992 movie ‘Living in Bondage’ and the star of ‘Up North’, ‘Family Battle’ and several others have since then been living super roles and supporting roles in moviedom.
Bob-Manuel Udokwu
Decorated actor and politician Bob-Manuel Udokwu is also a prominent member of the 50’s club. Born in April 1968, the native of Nkwelle-Ogidi in Idemili North Local Council of Anambra State and recipient of the Life Time Achievement Award of the AMAA has been enjoying super roles in movies since he made his debut in the phenomenal ‘Living in Bondage’ in 1992.
Star of ‘Karishika’, ‘Endless Tears’ ‘Rattle Snake’ and ‘Beyond The Vow’, Bob is married to Casandra and their marriage of over two decades is blessed with two children.

Ireti Doyle
Born on May 3, 1967, Iretiola Doyle is a prominent member of the unofficial 50’s club. A writer, actor, producer, and show host, Ireti presented and produced her own fashion and lifestyle show titled ‘Oge With Iretiola’. In her movie pouch are critically acclaimed movies such as ‘Merry Men’, ‘Arbitration’, ‘The Wedding Party, ‘Fifty’ and ‘Torn’.
Segun Arinze
Born in 1965 in Onitsha, Anambra State to parents who are from Badagry in Lagos State, Segun who is popular as Black Arrow, an alias he earned from playing a role with that name in the 1996 classic movie ‘Silent Night’, started out professionally as a singer before he ventured into acting. The Actor’s actor of vast credit, who served out his tenure as President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), was recently sworn in as President of the Association of Voice Over Artiste of Nigeria (AVOA)
Sola Sobowale
Sola Sobowale
Born on December 26, 1963, the fiery actress is also a member of the 50’s club. ‘The Wedding Party and ‘King of Boys’ star had her screen debut on television in 2001 as the star of ‘Oh Mother, Oh Daughter, an episode of the popular series by Wale Adenuga Production titled Super Stories. The 2019 AMAA best actress has featured in countless production including ‘Diamond Ring’, ‘Asewo To Re Mecca’, ‘Family Battle’, ‘Outkast’ and several other television and movie productions.
Ngozi Nwosu
Born in 1963, the native of Arochukwu in Abia State is also a prominent member of the 50’s club. An accomplished stage and screen actress who has featured in both English and Yoruba language stage and screen productions, Ngozi made her debut on home video in the phenomenal ‘Living in Bondage’. The veteran actress has gone on to grab super roles in critically acclaimed productions such as ‘Evil Passion’, ‘Stainless’ and the hit but long rested television sitcom ‘Fuji House of Commotion’.
